Burundi is a tiny country in Central Africa. Despite years of political and social unrest, With over 90% of the counties total exports being Coffee beans, Burundi is significant coffee growing nation. On the Western boarder of Burundi is Lake Tanganyika and Bujumbura province. Within the Bujumbura Province, between 4600 and 6300 ft above sea level lies the Mutambu Washing Station. Coffee beans from the over 400 small farms on this hillside are brought here for processing. These beans are hand picked and hand sorted ensuring a high level of quality control.
